The Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the philosophy departments of eight Czech universities, is organising the first year of PhD Philosophy Conference entitled Perspectives of Thought in 2024. The conference aims to create an environment for presenting the research activities of PhD students in the field of philosophy as well as for meeting and establishing new contacts. Creative and innovative approaches to contemporary philosophy and the history of philosophy are welcome, not only theoretical but also practical and interdisciplinary. The conference is not narrowly thematically defined; a wide range of topics can be presented, e.g. from the fields of epistemology, ontology, ethics, aesthetics, history of philosophy, philosophy of science, philosophy of language, etc.
The conference will take place on 12-14 September 2024 at the Academic Conference Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague. It is possible to present in Czech, Slovak or English. The requirement for active participation in the conference is to send an abstract of the prepared paper in the range of 250 to 300 words. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 April 15 May; authors will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance of their abstract no later than 30 June.
